A spectacular combination
of scenery and activities. The trek begins by flying over countless mountains and volcanoes: Vilyuchinsky, Gorely, Mutnovsky, and Opala to the Ksudach Volcano caldera where you will enjoy camping on the warm beach of beautiful Klyuchevoe Lake which is heated by underground hot springs. You will tour the caldera and then hike to the Khodutka River. The trip will include a walk through a landscape of stunning natural beauty and bountiful wildlife. It is possible to watch 5 – 10 brown bears in the course of a day. On arriving to Central Base in Verkhnegolyginsky Tourist Area you will be settled in a lodge.

During tours around the area you will see the mysterious Krugloye – or Round – Lake hidden among hills, hike along bear trails and also watch the animals that made these trails. You will also observe spawning salmon and wild ducks at Golyginskoye Lake. If you wish, you can also visit a bear den where triplet-cubs were born in 2000.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Yelisovo airport, transfer to Petropavlovsk, check into the hotel.
Day 2: Helicopter flight to the caldera of Ksudach Volcano. Camp.
Day 3: Trek around the caldera of Ksudach volcano (5 km).Camp.
Day 4: Day hike to the Khodutka River. Camp.
Day 5: Trek arrival at Central Base (10 km). Lodge.
Day 6: Day hike around Golyginsky Lake area (5 km). Bear watching. Camp.
Day 7: Boating around the lake. Hike to Krugloye Lake. Lodge at Central Base.
Day 8: Wildlife viewing in the environs of Central Base. Visit a bear den. Lodge.
Day 9: Helicopter transfer to Petropavlovsk with a rest-stop at the Khodutka hot springs area. Hotel in Petropavlovsk
Day 10: Transfer to Yelisovo airport for final departure.
